Natasha Tomm – Quantum Optician

Natasha Tomm, quantum optician, talks about her role as an application-oriented scientist and project manager at Zurich Instruments, her collaboration with academic and industrial partners, and the interdisciplinary nature of quantum technologies.

Natasha Tomm shows us her workplace in the Technopark Zurich. Zurich Instruments is a ETH Zurich spin-off that develops control electronics for quantum technologies and quantum computing. She also explains the basic principles of quantum computing, including qubits, their control via electronic pulses, and the current challenges of scaling up quantum processors.
